All great adventures start with just a small idea.

Unfortunately though, I can’t take the credit for this one. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I’d be riding a bicycle across an entire country. Who even thinks like that anyway?

For my adventure, it started with a blog. In search for some excitement, I was reading about the travels of others online, when I stumbled across something a little interesting – “The Ultimate DIY Guide to Cycling Vietnam“.

Somewhere in my “desperate for a new adventure” mind, I figured this all sounded like a great idea.

I didn’t think about how I’d barely been on a bike in about 100 years, give or take a few. I didn’t think about how I wasn’t particularly fit. I just figured if they can do it, why can’t I?

So in September 2015, I flew on over to Vietnam, and by the end of October, the ride had begun.

Over the following months and into January, I took on my greatest adventure.

Starting in Hanoi, I made my way south, stopping at all the big locations along the way, and taking as long as I needed to get into Ho Chi Minh City.

And now?
