After a few unfortunate delays on the way, with not only my bag being stolen as we left Peru, but my friend Justin’s bag being stolen as we arrived in Chile, we finally made it to San Pedro de Attacama (less Justin who went on a quest for a new passport).
In San Pedro we met the rest of the Aussie crew, became a group of 7, and got ourselves organised for a tour through Bolivia!
We went with the typical three day itinerary travelling from San Pedro to Uyuni through some of the most amazing geology Bolivia has to offer. We travelled across the salt flats as a convoy of three 4WDs, with nationalities ranging from French, to English (one affectionately naming us “convicts”…) and of course our group of Aussies.
Many of us may have suffered with headaches and exhaustion as we reached heights of 5,000 metres, but the scenery around us made it all worth while. Here’s a few shots from the short tour.
