After getting sick when I arrived in Bagan, I had two days of pagoda hopping left to me (and – as always – a desire not to miss any of the good sights).
With the extreme heat nudging above 40 degrees every day, I decided I wanted to get it all done before lunch (meaning I could escape into air conditioning during the hottest part of the day).
With waking up at sunrise, heading back to the hostel for breakfast, and then heading out again until lunchtime, I managed to see more than a couple of dozen temples in my two days. That was enough to get me officially “pagoda’d out”.
Here’s a “little” taster of what to see in Bagan.
Shwe San Daw Pagoda (or the view from it for sunrise)
Myin Pya Gu
Gaw Daw Palin Phaya
This one gets included because I just loved how it looked.
Dhamma Ya Zi Ka Pagoda
Kutha Pagoda (or the view from it for sunrise)
Su Tau Ang Pyi
Than Pyin Swa
Shwe Zigon Zedi
Iza Gauna Pagoda
Lay Myet Hnar
