Terms of Use

Use of: http://www.agirlabroad.com / “A Girl Abroad”

This policy is valid from 1st June, 2014.

The reading of all information on agirlabroad.com is of your own free will.

If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, or you’re feeling particularly unadventurous, you should cease use of this website immediately. Otherwise, if you’re looking for a little excitement in life or you’re wanting a little travel inspiration, check this Blog out.

I reserve the right to change any of these Terms and Conditions as listed on this page at any time. This could happen on a whim, or if I’m just interested in a little soft adventuring like pretending I know how to create a website. So if you’re into safety, check back here often.

Although I work very hard to provide you with up-to-date information (through painful travel experiences or exciting travel research…), I make no representations or warranties of any kind (expressed or implied) about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of any information, products, services or related graphics contained on A Girl Abroad for any purpose.

In particular, when it comes to current prices, addresses, opening hours, phone numbers, travel information and website addresses, I advise you to double check. Especially in places like Vietnam, where information can change based on your skin colour…

Generally, I aim to provide you with accurate information at the time of publishing (unless I want to screw with you), but some information will understandably be less accurate as time passes. Should you find any inaccurate information, please do not hesitate to contact me. This is life threatening stuff, and I will drop everything and put life on hold to fix any errors.

Copyright Policy

Unless otherwise noted, I (Caitlin Gordon of A Girl Abroad) am the legal copyright holder of all (written, multimedia and graphic) material on this website (even the bad stuff) which may not be used, reprinted, modified or published without my written consent.

A link to agirlabroad.com must appear in all copies of any artwork or content, including articles, press releases, inspiring stories, names written out on the beach etc. etc., which is used by you.

Guest bloggers and other contributors to A Girl Abroad are responsible for their own submitted material on this website. The opinions expressed by any Third Parties are their own and do not represent the position or beliefs of agirlabroad.com.

Any comments made on this site are not the responsibility of A Girl Abroad, however I’ll do my best to respond “in kind” to anything I consider particularly impolite or offensive (or if someone really drives me a little mad).

Hold Harmless

All the information provided on agirlabroad.com is for general information and entertainment purposes only and expresses the opinion of myself, Caitlin Gordon (‘A Girl Abroad‘) and not others.

I am not providing any medical, legal, professional, astrological, dermatological or any other ‘ological advice. You are taking all the provided information at your own risk. Contact your local doctor, lawyer, insurance provider, geologist, marine biologist etc. etc. for any expert advice. If in doubt, speak to your mum or ask Google.

Under no circumstances will I be liable for any loss or damage (including without limitation indirect or consequential loss or damage) whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of or in connection with the use of this website.

I cannot be held responsible for any offence taken due to translation, interpretation or mistakes in grammar and/or punctuation of my website’s content.

Although I try to keep the epic adventures of agirlabroad.com running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, access to the site may be temporarily or permanently suspended without notice at my own discretion. Sometimes this may be due to possible updates or technical issues beyond my control, otherwise I may forget to pay the bill for my site domain because I’m off hiking the tallest mountains I can find (don’t worry – I won’t actually forget to pay). Either way, I will not be liable if for any reason the website is unavailable at any time or for any period of time. Where it does go down, I will try to get the website back online as soon as possible.

Privacy Statement

Any personal and/or contact information provided to me will be kept private. You will not be spammed in any way. I will not be sending out a birthday e-card. But most importantly, I will not sell or disclose your information to any other companies.

I am not responsible for the privacy practices of any of my advertisers or blog commenters.

Reserve Rights

I, Caitlin Gordon from A Girl Abroad, reserve the right to change the focus of this blog, shut it down, sell it and / or change the terms of use, at my own discretion.

I also reserve the right to edit or delete any comments submitted to agirlabroad.com without notice for reasons I deem reasonable including comments considered to be spam, comments which include profanity, comments containing language or concepts that could be deemed offensive, comments that attack a group or person individually, or comments from my mum sending me virtual hugs.

Advertisers and Sponsors

I am not responsible for the actions of my advertisers or sponsors. If you purchase a product or service based upon a link from my website, you must take action with that company directly to resolve any concerns or issues.

Any product, claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question. All opinions however, are my own, and I can’t help but be biased towards something red and shiny…

Given blogs can actually cost an insane amount of money, to cover these costs, some advertising and affiliate links are located on this website. These links earn this site a (very) small commission on any purchases made after clicking on a link (with no impact on you). It’s important to note however, that I will only provide you with information about products that I have tested and truly believe in. The products I recommend to you are products I would recommend to friends (since we’re besties and all that), although you should keep in mind the time at which I write about them as some products could be superseded by the time you’re looking at tackling an adventure with some sweet gadgets.

Letters to the Editor

Any letters, e-mails, blog comments, responses on Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter, or questions written directly to me, may be used to share with my blogging audience unless specifically requested otherwise. I’ll ask you first though.

Thanks for visiting the site, and keeping the adventures alive.
